This summer hasn't been quite so brutal...yet. Yet! Unpredictable--albeit--but not so terribly hot and sticky and overall miserable. Yet. It's made getting dressed much, much easier. Hey, we're all continually walking, running up and down stairs, and being shoved into tight spaces on mass transit with hundreds of other equally irritated city-dwellers. What I'm putting on requires an annoyingly great deal of thought and planning in regards to the particular day ahead. On this exceptional night above, I don't believe that I could have concocted a more delightful combination of circumstances. I began with oysters and rose (shocker!) at the Gallow Green rooftop at the McKittrick Hotel in Chelsea on the very west side of this island of Manhattan. The temperature was just right, I wasn't sweating profusely, and the sunset ushered in a slight breeze.

Then, I zoomed entirely crosstown to Tom Colicchio's Riverpark and farm, which sits directly overlooking the East River on 29th, and the views, once again, were deliriously fantastic. Enjoying crudo while relaxing outside and gazing out over the river to Long Island City--Can we stick that moment on ice in the freezer, please, to retrieve on a dreary or muggy day?  The restaurant, in conjunction with the Alexandria Center, oversees the farm, which is one of the largest farming models in all of New York City, and from which, grows and serves much of its produce. Talk about farm-to-table all within eyesight. The farm is a landmark example of the temporary alternative use of a stalled site to stimulate local interest and economic activity, benefit the environment, beautify an area, and engage the community. Overall, my island west-to-east coast/river-to-river night consisted of subtle summer touches, and I simply wanted to look cool, feel even cooler, and to soak in the bubbling life of the city from all vantage points.

 Another mission accomplished.

1. Zara Basic white blazer
White is crisp, especially for summer, and the lightweight nature of this Zara blazer allowed me to remain neither hot nor cold.

2. 213 Industry coral skort
Yes, a skort. Flashing back to recess and consequently, "time outs." And, I simply adore the combination of coral and white together. Super fresh.

3. Understar New York City black and white cropped tee
Follow the link to purchase the tee half off! I'm jealous.

4. Gold chain link "collar" necklace
